WATERFRONT OTTAWA CAMPAIGN LAUNCH– Expert Opinions from Founder Delphi (Enviromental Engineering Consultants), NCC Masterplan Architect, Bank Street BIA Director and lessons from CEO Waterfront Toronto

Ottawa, March 24th 2013

In one of its boldest national policy statements to date, the Municipal Taxpayer Advocacy Group (MTAG) is launching its "Waterfront Ottawa" Campaign, patterned after the success of Waterfront Toronto which was formed by 3 levels of government and given a 25 year mandate to lead an estimated $35 billion in waterfront renewal for 2000 acres of land. While MTAG is not advocating, specific waterfront projects, MTAG is calling for the creation of Waterfront Ottawa with a board consisting of 6 stake holders; the Aboriginal Community, the City of Ottawa, the NCC, the Province of Ontario, P3 Canada and The Federal Government Ministry of Infrastructure.

MTAG plans on discussing such a plan with some of Canada's foremost minds on its second "Experts on Ottawa" Rogers television program Monday evening at 8.30 pm. Ade Olumide, President of MTAG will welcome.

The Parkway, Bayview Yards, Victoria Island, Chaudière, Albert & Amelia Islands Bayview, Lebreton Flats, Vanier Ottawa River, Colonel By Drive, Rideau River, Hurdman Station Islands, Dows Lake should all be part of the discussion" said Olumide.

Every Canadian has a stake in the NCC mandate and in ensuring we have a capital that is the envy of the world, an interprovincial and international tourist destination while providing new revenue for taxpayers.
