City Will Hold Spending Control Summit: Watson

Mayor Jim Watson insists City Staff are working to find an "appropriate date" for a Spending Control Summit

The Ottawa Taxpayers Advocacy Group is accusing Watson of breaking a campaign promise for not holding a summit on City spending before the City of Ottawa's draft budget is tabled.

But Watson tells CFRA News staff are looking at holding the summit before the budget is finalized.

"My mandate is very clear, to have a Spending Control Summit by the end of the budget process," Watson says, noting the budget will be finalized in March.

The group is also calling for a meeting with the Mayor to discuss City spending.
